I myself do actually like gag strips, especially punny ones, but as Delos said -- even taking some of the best gag strips ever created (like Calvin & Hobbes, Dilbert, etc) and reading over a hundred in one sitting will have you not laughing by the end. I enjoy getting "Zits" in my email every day, but there are days when I just look at it and go "eh, sorta funny. not really." The great thing about our little gang is our variety of interests. I don't find every Dilbert strip funny (gasp) but some are. If you look at a few hundred Dilbert strips, you might be surprised at how funny (or not) you really think the strip is. I found it hard to consistently write funny gag strips and I don't find many of the strips in the paper to be consistently funny, either.
